Die Erarbeitung des Motivs zur Dreieinigkeit erforderte "künstlerische Demut": das Bild ist bewusst "unfertig" und unvollkommen gehalten, um dem Gedanken Ausdruck zu verleihen, dass ja auch das "Bild" und die Sicht des Menschen auf das, was mit "Dreieinigkeit" bezeichnet wird, stets unvollkommen bleiben muss. Dem gegenüber gestellt ist das bestimmende Kompositionselement des Kreises als Symbol der Vollkommenheit. Die Beschränkung auf die drei Grundfarben sollen die Grundsätzlichkeit der Trinität in der christlichen Religiosität unterstreichen. Diese drei Farben setzen sich auch im äußeren Symbolring für den "Erdkreis" fort: "Denn von ihm und durch ihn und zu ihm sind alle Dinge" (Römer 11, 36). Ergänzt wird das Motiv durch die Symbole einer weiteren im christlichen Selbstverständnis grundlegenden Trinität: "Glaube, Liebe und Hoffnung".

Developing and painting of the motif "Trinuity" required a certain mannor of "artistic humility": the painting is wittingly designed imperfect, as well as the sight of a human being on that what we call "Trinity" allways will (and must) stay imperfect. In the opposite there is the circle as dominant detail of the composition, a symbol of infinity and perfection. The primary colours yellow, blue and red symbolize the fundamental relevance of "trinity" for the christian religiosity. These three colours are continued in the surrounding "circle of live and earth" - "For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things..." (Romans11,36). Added and included are the symbols of another basical christian trinity: faith, love and hope.
